The Port of Wilmington is a multi-use facility handling bulk, breakbulk and containerized cargos. North Carolina Ports is a working port authority handling the receiving and delivery of cargo. SSA Atlantic services 25 lines and/or cargo interests at the port, handling 10 to 15 vessel calls per month. Some of the lines represented by SSA Atlantic are Saga, Star Shipping, Trans-Atlantic, Gearbulk, Spliethoff and Independent Container Line (ICL).
