Feasibility Studies and Consulting
SSA Marine has the resources and expertise to provide consulting services for transportation related projects around the world. SSA Marine has consulted on a variety of projects, including management information systems for container terminals, container terminal operation feasibility studies, feasibility studies for refrigerated cargo storage facilities and studies examining alternative cargo handling methods. SSA Marine has conducted feasibility studies for the United States Trade and Development Association (USTDA) including the St. Petersburg, Russia Cold Storage Feasibility Study and the Puerto Cortes, Honduras & Santo Tomas, Guatemala Chill Facilities Study. Most recently, SSA Marine managed the Port of Umm Qsar for the United States International Agency for Development.
Container Equipment Maintenance
Container Equipment Maintenance (CEM) refers to the inspection, monitoring, maintenance and repair of container equipment. This includes dry containers and chassis, as well as the plugging/unplugging, monitoring, repairing and pretripping of refrigerated containers. The CEM also provides high-pressure cleaning of containers and steam cleaning services for chassis. SSA Marine has the tools and personnel to perform fast, quality and cost-effective repairs on-site to meet or exceed specifications on container and chassis equipment. For our customers, this means avoiding extra gate charges and trucking costs resulting from off-site repairs.
Warehousing and Cold Storage
In several of our operations, including Mexico and Panama, SSA Marine offers Container Freight Stations (CFS) to efficiently load and unload cargo from containers. SSA Marine provides state-of-the-art warehouse facilities for loose and general cargo, as well as, cold storage for perishables. In addition, security at our operations ensures the safety of our customers' cargo.
