SSA Marine provides receiving and dock handling services as well as stevedoring to or from vessel. Currently, we have two ocean carriers calling once a month for pulp export to the Pacific Rim. We are also delivering imported New Zealand pulp to local carriers for delivery to Medford, Oregon. Our company is capable of providing equipment and necessary expertise to handle many types of cargo, not only forest products cargo.

Location: Eureka is the only deep water port between San Francisco (209 miles to the south) and Coos Bay, Oregon (156 miles north). Fairhaven Terminal is located on the Samoa Peninsula and is approximately 4.9 nautical miles from the sea buoy. Eureka is approximately 5.5 hours drive to either San Francisco or Sacramento.

Total Berthing Length: 500 feet but can secure vessels up to 700 feet

Driving Directions

From the north:

  • Proceed on southbound Hwy 101 to Eureka
  • Turn right at R St onto Hwy 255 Samoa
  • Proceed over the Samoa bridge and at the stop sign, turn left
  • Proceed 2 miles and turn left on Bay St. (Fairhaven Power Plant will be on your left as a landmark)
  • Proceed 0.3 miles and turn right onto Bendixsen St. at the sign that says Fairhaven Business Park
  • Proceed 0.3 miles to the security gate and call SSA Pacific for further instructions

From the south:

  • Proceed on northbound Hwy 101 to Eureka
  • Proceed through Eureka until you reach R St
  • Turn left on R St and follow directions as above
