The Port of Port Arthur is one of the finest forest product ports in the Gulf, handling more than 350,000 tons per year. Steel slabs from Mexico and Brazil are also handled. The port is recognized as the third strategic U. S. Military discharge and loading port.  There is an additional 50+ acres for expansion/development with rail availability south of the port.
