Specifications and Services
The Port of Little Rock is a full intermodal bulk and breakbulk
facility on the Arkansas River that averages 35 barge calls per
month. Barges are loaded and discharged at two separate dock
locations. The main dock has two barge berths while the slackwater dock has one barge
berth. The port is located 113 river miles from the Mississippi
River. It is served by two major railroad companies and a short
line railroad that provides daily switching service. Truck access
is excellent as the port is located approximately three miles
from Interstates 40, 30 and 530. The Little Rock Harbor Service
is located adjacent to the port offering switching and fleeting
services. Special services provided by the port include real time
inventory control and product packaging.
